Science and Technology

Co-ordinator: David Tordoff

We attempted to relaunch the group at the beginning of this year, but sadly there was insufficient interest.

The Science and technology Group has been active and well-attended for many years as can be seen from the information on this page. All we need is a few more members. If you are interested please contact the coordinator using the message icon above.

Status:Temporarily inactive

Group email: Science and Technology group
When: On Thursday afternoons
Week 3

The aims of the group are to:

Introduce topics in the areas of Science & Technology of varied interest to all members. These range from scientific and technological matters through to things that are curious or even unusual. Click below to see the vast list of subjects we have touched in previous years

Group members are encouraged if possible to introduce topics of their choice lasting 30 minutes upwards and we also have engaged external expert speakers for some our sessions.

You need to be prepared to contribute, ask questions or even just listen and enjoy the session.

The group currently meets the third Thursday of the month at 2pm using on line Zoom as our main medium for sharing presentations, discussions.

From time to time we organise external visits to places of scientific or technological interest.

We have a real need to encourage new members to join with us and to generate content for our future sessions. As such we have decided to have a furlough until January 2025 when we hope to re-energise the Group with a new programme of sessions.
